Congratulations to this beautiful actress who just signed with an LA talent manager! This actress lives out of state and will now have the opportunity to audition for tv and film roles that cast in LA. Fortunately she will be able to "self tape" the auditions and send them in from home. She came to LA recently to update her headshots because she was very happy with her last shots that we did. In fact, the photo above is from her last acting headshot session. I haven't had a chance to get her new headshots edited yet, but will post them once they are ready in a future blog. In any case, this trip to come out and update her headshots turned into some wonderful success as I was able to connect her and her parents to the talent manager. Headshot photographers in LA each have their own style. My partner at the studio loves to pull out a bit of gritiness and edge. I like to hone in on the eyes and have a bit more crisp and bright popping look. Here are examples of teen acting and modeling headshots... Teen modeling and acting headshots may show the full body, a 3/4 look or a close up. I've found most agents to select a range of close ups. They want images that show the eyes, skin and hair well especially since casting is done online and the first thing a modeling casting agent will see is a thumbnail. They can see a lot about the teen model in the face...the confidence, the beauty, the unique traits such as freckles, tooth gap, tiger eyes as well as exotic features. As a headshot photographer I like to provide plenty of shots that show the eyes and how the model can smize or emote.
