CHILD MODELING FAQ

Image
A lot of parents want to know how to get their child started in modeling and print work and have a lot of questions about this. Most parents don't know where to start. As a top child model photographer and top kids headshot photographer in LA I thought I would answer some FAQ about child modeling. Child modeling headshot CHILD MODELING FAQ: 1. MY CHILD IS TALL. WOULD THEY BE A GOOD MODEL? Height for child models...ages 12 and under is not the same requirement as the teen and adult modeling industry. Typically models are known to be tall and thin because the clothing hangs well on a tall, thin body. In contrast, with child modeling, there can be a demand for certain clothing sizes, or ethicities but not a demand for tall kids. There is however a demand for unique features such as lots of freckles, a tooth gap, big beautiful afro's, stunning eyes and in general beautiful children. If you look at a Ralph Lauren ad with kids or a GAP kids ad, you will usualy see a beautiful ch...

KIDS HEADSHOTS PHOTOSHOOT SHOWING 3 DIFFERENT LOOKS

Image
As a kids headshot photographer in Los Angeles, I am always asked what should my child wear for his photoshoot? In this post, I wanted to show you a sample of a 5 year old kids headshot session and what she wore for her headshots. I always tell parents this is not a beauty pageant and we are not "glamming" the child actor up. You want your headshots to reflect "you" on a good day. So yes the clothes should be pressed, clean and stain free. However, we are not looking for fancy. Casual clothes that show the child as different types or characters is what should be worn. For example a girl next door, a spunky kid, a drama look, and a comercial look could be 4 different wardrobe choices. Here the young actress shows three different looks from her kids headshot photoshoot. She has a smiling commercial look, a more serious drama look and then since she also does some print modeling she has a full body look wearing overalls which I would classify as a "spunky k...

CHILD MODELING PHOTOSHOOT

Here's a child modeling photoshoot with a young boy who does both acting and child modeling. We did 3 different wardrobe changes and he ended up with over 200 photos. This amazing young man brought some really great energy to his child modeling photoshoot and we had a lot of fun working together. I like to keep a child model headshot photoshoot fun and playful. And although I'll capture plenty of smiles and laughter, I'll also capture some quiet moods and pensive looks. Talent agents like to see a variety of expressions and moods. This way when they send a child model's portfolio to a casting director, they can get a feel for the model and how they photograph different ways. It's not only about a child model's look, but also how they move for the camera and express themself. If your child has expressed an interest in modeling or acting, contact us and we will get you set up for a child modeling photoshoot. Kids headshot photographer, baby headshots, toddler...
