CHILD MODELING PHOTOSHOOT

Child modeling photoshoots are slightly different then an child actor headshot photoshoot. For one, with actors you are mostly concentrating on the face and expressions and or types an actor might play. But with models, casting wants to see your body type. Tall and leggy, petite, athletic? A casting agent may be looking for a specific type to fit the role they are casting. For example if the ad is for Nike, then a child model should be and look a bit more athletic. If the role is for Abercrombie teens, they may want to see longer hair, a big afro, dreads, or just a very hip look. There are modeling jobs for all sorts of products and each one has their own requirements. So with this in mind, a child modeling photoshoot
will include some body shots and or 3/4 shots. A child modeling photoshoot will also include some close ups. The close ups can be headshots but also shots that shows the child models energy and personality.
Unique features such as freckles, tooth gap, beautiful eyes should also be captured. Many times a casting call will ask for "unique features" like this. This might be for a high end or designer clothing brand.
When booking your child model photoshoot
make sure that the child model photographer has excellent experience with kids, posing and models. Take a look at their portfolio, website and instagram so you don't waste money and have to reshoot later. Your child's modeling portfolio is what will get them auditions and even direct bookings off their photos.
