There are several ways to get in with a modeling agency, but one of the top ways my clients have done this is to get some really great modeling headshots.

Modeling agents will choose a variety of modeling headshots to use with your portfolio.
All modeling agencies want to see your look, how you pose, how you photograph and your body type. They are seeking many different looks and many different body types. But definitely the model should be able to move in front of the camera with some confidence and skill. But don't worry if you are not fully confident and skilled yet. This comes with practice. to submit to the model agencies. If you have a fabulous modeling portfolio then then a modeling agent or modeling agency will take notice. You can also use some of your modeling headshots on your instagram as they may be looking at your social media presence. Many of my modeling clients use a bunch of images from our modeling photoshoot on their social media so that when the agent looks them up, they get to see a variety of poses and looks. But at the same time, once you have a good portfolio of modeling headshots then you can submit to the agencies. Child modeling photoshoots are slightly different then an child actor headshot photoshoot. For one, with actors you are mostly concentrating on the face and expressions and or types an actor might play. But with models, casting wants to see your body type. Tall and leggy, petite, athletic? A casting agent may be looking for a specific type to fit the role they are casting. For example if the ad is for Nike, then a child model should be and look a bit more athletic. If the role is for Abercrombie teens, they may want to see longer hair, a big afro, dreads, or just a very hip look. KIDS HEADSHOTS AND CHILD MODELING PHOTOSHOOT

Here are some examples of kids headshots and child modeling headshots that were taken recently with a young child model and actress. Her session included multiple changes to her hair and wardrobe. We also had a hair and make up artist for the photoshoot. Of course the make up was extremely light since she is so young...just a bit of concealor under the eyes and lipgloss, a little glow on the cheeks. These are just a few images out of hundreds of shots, from her kids headshots and modeling photoshoot. Kids heashots should always be on the natural side, but having a hairstylist is helpful to "polish" the look or to create different hairstyles. This child does both acting and modeling so we incorporated both close up headshots for the acting profile and full body images for her child modeling headshots. CHILD HEADSHOTS AND MODELING PHOTOSHOOT

Child models need headshots but also they need a variety of looks which show their unique features and their body type. A child modeleling portfolio will have close up headshots, as well as three quarter shots and full body shots. A child modeling agency will want to show the child from different angles and poses so the client can get a feel for the child model.
